Welcome to the Webgains Advertiser Spotlight. To begin, could you please tell us a little bit about VirCru?

In simple terms, VirCru lets you monitor and control your boat from a mobile phone, based on our easy-to-install sensors. Our system alerts boat owners immediately if anything goes wrong onboard – perhaps the battery voltage has dropped, someone has broken in, or the boat has moved when you haven’t expected it to. Many boat owners can’t visit their boat as often as they’d like, so knowing about events as they happen can make all the difference between enjoyment and concern.

Is there anything else you’d like to add? For instance, what are your business values? What is your story?

VirCru’s founder, Tristan Dargay, is a keen boat owner himself. When he couldn’t find a simple and effective way to monitor his boat, he used his expertise in electrical engineering to design his own. 

Technology like this has existed for a few years now but neither the technology nor the pricing have been easily accessible. We aim to ensure that we are the go-to retailer for affordability and unique features. Furthermore, sensor batteries are guaranteed for ten years and can be activated in seconds with a QR scanning system.

Our mission is to let boaters focus on having fun on board, keeping them and their boats safe in the process. Getting VirCru installed allows them to do just that. 

What would you say are the biggest benefits for a publisher working with your company?

As IoT (Internet of Things) products become more common, we feel VirCru has all the tools in place to become the key player in this market. The year 2022 is all about spreading the word, and our affiliate programme offers a competitive commission structure for publishers looking to help us.

This isn’t a product that is standing still either – we’re always thinking about new features to add (our in-App Triplog has released a few weeks ago) and new ways to help owners enjoy their boats. There’s plenty for publishers to shout about and an exciting market to discover, as travel opens up again following the pandemic. 

What can you tell us about your audience? What types of Publishers do you work best with?

VirCru works for most types of boats, so it carries appeal across a wide portion of the marine market, and we have users in 7 countries so there’s potential to build our presence across Europe and beyond. 

As consumers get to grips with products like this, there is always the potential for long-form content that explains and guides people through buying their first Smart Boat product. We’ve only just begun our journey with affiliates and see this content is vitally important.

Is there anything else you’d like our Advertisers to know?

We’re keen to spread the word about our new VirCru Professional Programme, designed specifically for professionals in the marine industry.  The programme makes it as simple as possible to stock and install VirCru, with no contracts, minimum orders or complicated vetting processes. We want to get as many VirCru systems on the water as possible this summer and VirCru Pro forms a crucial part of that process. 

So, what makes VirCru an exciting company?  

There are lots to get excited about at VirCru. IoT tech is poised to cross into the mainstream and no one has ever offered this type of product as affordably before, so we think there’s real potential for the market to explode. 

McKinsey predicts that by 2023, there will be 43 billion IoT devices across the globe. Our plan to disrupt the marine sector goes beyond our price point too – we’re constantly working with customers to develop and improve new features, so the product is always evolving. Our recent TripLog addition to the VirCru App is a prime example of this. 

Does VirCru have any exciting plans coming up in 2022?

From a product perspective, our most exciting addition is a remote switching system. This will let boaters control lights or an appliance from anywhere – you could turn the heating and lights on or get the drinks cold before you arrive at your boat for the weekend! 

As previously mentioned, just added a TripLog to the VirCru App as well, allowing users to record their journeys with photos and notes on a shareable, interactive map. More new features will follow later this year but we can’t wait to see what users share while sailing with our product.
