With a background in retail managerial roles and wholesale-retail customer service, Ana joined Webgains as a Client Executive in March 2019. Since then, Ana has progressed to now managing the Client Support team and looking after our Self-Managed Programs.
Hi Ana! Welcome to our latest Meet the Team. Our first question for you, how do you like to start your working day?
Everyone usually says coffee, I know, but I’m going to break the mould, mainly as I can’t drink coffee. I think for me, the key is just having a routine. It used to include having a chat with whoever was in the office’s kitchen when I walked in. Still, for now, it’s just making sure everything around me is tidy, setting up my workstation and starting with my emails before checking Teams and the Client Support inbox.
It’s good to have an organised workspace. So, tell us, Ana, what do you do at Webgains and in what circumstances would I come to you for something?
I manage the Client Support team, who look after our self-managed programs. You should come to me if you want any technical help with our platform if you had any doubts regarding our service, needed any marketing advice or you just wanted to know how to make the best out of your self-managed program with us.
Great, and our next question, who has influenced you the most when it comes to how you approach your work?
I would say, my Dad. He was a quality consultant back in Argentina and taught me from a very young age how important it is to have a strong work ethic and to be proud of the work you do.
While we are talking about learnings, what’s a mistake you made early on, and how did it influence your career?
I think earlier on, I was a bit more insecure about my capabilities, and I used to take things a lot more personally. Over time, I’ve learned that usually my instincts are right, and to let things go since it doesn’t help anyone. The best approach to work is to do the absolute best you can and cut yourself some slack if you can’t do 110% for everyone all the time
Currently then Ana, what’s the coolest thing you’re working on?
There are a lot of changes in the pipeline at Webgains (still a secret, shh!), so we are working out how is the best way to roll them out to all our clients. Exciting, exciting times ahead!
What has been your experience of working at Webgains so far?
It has been great! It’s rare to find a company that looks after its employees as much as Webgains does. The perks, people and career advancement opportunities are excellent. I have been talking about what is the next step for me and my career pretty much since I started, and they have given me all the opportunities, advice and help I need to be able to do it.
That’s great to hear! So, what keeps you energised at work?
A job well done. I know it sounds cliché, but there is nothing better than getting a thank you email from one of our clients or seeing a program start performing a lot better after one of our optimisation calls. Being able to help businesses grow and thrive is what makes me keep doing this. We are all very proud of the quality of support we offer in our team, especially considering that we have over 400 programs to look after.
What’s one thing that surprised you about working at Webgains?
How diverse the company is. It was the first time I worked anywhere in which I wasn’t the only foreign person, for example. In Webgains, we have people from all over the world, which makes an exciting workplace. You learn a lot about other cultures, countries, traditions, and backgrounds, and it’s so interesting finding the similarities with other countries. We tend to bring food from our countries when we go home for a holiday, and in the past year and a half, I’ve been able to try some pretty amazing foods from across the world without leaving our office kitchen!
Thanks, Ana, and finally one last question, what’s your secret talent that no one knows about?
Maybe I shouldn’t broadcast it because then I’ll have to make it for the office, but my brownies are the stuff of legends.
