What is an RFP?

An RFP (Request for Proposal) is a formal document used by companies to solicit proposals from potential vendors or suppliers. It outlines the requirements and objectives of a project or initiative and invites qualified parties to submit detailed proposals. The RFP provides information about the organisation, project goals, technical specifications, evaluation criteria, and timeline. Its purpose is to establish a structured and fair process for selecting the most suitable vendor or supplier based on their proposed solutions, expertise, and pricing. The RFP helps companies make informed decisions and procure goods, services, or solutions that align with their needs.

What is the difference between an RFP and an RFI?

Requests for Information (RFI) and Requests for Proposals (RFP) are very similar and often used interchangeably. However, the key difference is that, where an RFI aims to gather knowledge and assess the capabilities of vendors before initiating a formal procurement process, an RFP solicits detailed proposals that address the organisation’s specific needs and goals.

How much does it cost to join Webgains?

Unlike with other affiliate networks, where advertisers typically pay a monthly fee plus override (a % of commission paid to publishers), Webgains has only a single charge. This is a monthly minimum fee that differs for all service levels.

This payment structure minimises risk for our clients as they only pay override when the override amount is higher than the monthly minimum.

Ultimately, the costs of running an affiliate programme with Webgains are likely to prove immaterial in relation to the extra revenue generated. As it is purely performance based, no channel can match affiliates when it comes to ROI.

What should be included in an affiliate network RFP?

When creating an RFP for an affiliate network such as Webgains, we recommend advertisers to include the following eight key elements:

1. Background and Objectives: Provide an overview of your organization, its industry, and the goals you aim to achieve through the affiliate network. Clearly state the objectives, such as increasing sales, expanding reach, or driving customer acquisition.

2. Scope of Work: Define the scope of services you expect from the affiliate network. This may include affiliate program management, recruitment of affiliates, tracking and reporting, commission structure, and any other specific requirements relevant to your organisation.

3. Technical Requirements: Outline the necessary technical specifications, such as affiliate tracking software, integration capabilities with your existing systems, and any other technology requirements to ensure seamless operations and accurate performance tracking.

4. Commission and Payment Structure: Describe the desired commission structure for affiliates and specify the payment terms and frequency. This could include details about commission rates, performance tiers, and any special incentives or bonuses.

5. Affiliate Recruitment and Management: Explain the criteria and strategies for affiliate recruitment, including target markets and demographics. Outline the expectations for ongoing affiliate management, communication, support, and training.

6. Reporting and Analytics: Specify the reporting requirements you expect from the affiliate network, including key performance indicators (KPIs), conversion tracking, and real-time reporting capabilities. Highlight the desired frequency and level of detail for reports.

7. Contract and Terms: Indicate the expected contract duration and any specific terms and conditions that vendors must adhere to. This could include provisions for termination, non-disclosure agreements, and intellectual property rights.

8. Evaluation Criteria and Timeline: Clearly define the evaluation criteria that will be used to assess proposals. Additionally, provide a timeline with key milestones, such as the proposal submission deadline, vendor selection date, and project start date.

Otherwise we will share the RFP with the relevant teams within the business to ensure we provide the most accurate and up-to-date information possible.

Do I need to send an RFP to Webgains?

Whether or not a company submits an RFP to an affiliate network depends on factors such as the company’s size, budget, timeline, complexity of requirements, and the level of detail and formality they desire in the selection process.
