Back in 2019, we started an email string with our team to share links to books, articles and videos about professional life, career, advice, and leadership. We recently reignited this initiative with a monthly instalment, ‘Things we read.’
Last month we spoke to members of our Sales department, who share with us their current favourite novels. One that spans the whole of human history, another that discusses how we cannot avoid suffering, but how we can choose to cope with it and find meaning in the tougher times. And lastly, a once-in-a-generation memoir of a rock legend.
Steve Dean
“I actually read this great book a few years ago, but it’s so good and relevant that I’m reading it again. It basically covers the entire history of humans and why we have things like banks, money, religion, music, and culture. Harari even explains why some countries and people behave in a certain way versus others
Some of the insight he reveals is relevant to current conditions as well, so I’d highly recommend you pick up a copy now.”
Annwen Bristow
“While times are a little tough, I have been trying to read books that have an element of self-reflection and hope about how to remain positive during adverse times.”
Man’s Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl
“Which is focused around finding inspiration in the art of just living.”
“For something a bit funnier and more light-hearted I have also started reading” Keith Richards Autobiography called Life
